The collection given as a gift includes seventy-nine instruments, of which a very significant group of string instruments and a considerable group of guitars and mandolins, which date back to the 1750/1900 period, presenting many different varieties of models made by leading lute-makers throughout the Italian history of the art of making stringed instruments. Two rooms have been reserved within the museum area to the collection, one of which is used for educational purposes: the different construction phases of a string instrument are explained and the different materials used in the art of making stringed instruments are presented in that room.
